Brickfete Road Show - November 15, 2014

The four of us attended the Brickfete Lego festival today.  It was a little pricey at $30 for the 4 of us, considering we only stayed 45 minutes.  We would have stayed longer, but the children's play area was a bit of a mad house so the kids decided that we'd just go home and play with "Daddy's Lego", which suited me just fine.  However, I had the a good time looking over the various displays and got into a conversation with one of the presenters; I think I may have caught him a bit off guard with my familiarity of Bricklink, Peeron, etc..

My wife kept saying AFOL as a word in an effort to tease me a bit, which I let slide.. because its true.  As we were leaving we did agree that I could easily create a display myself next year if I put some effort into it.  While I am a little behind on my building skill set, my collection is big enough to pull it off now.  I did note there were no tall ships on display... hmmmm.

I did take pictures of some of our favourites out of the 50 odd MOCs that were there, but didn't take note of the creators and I kind of feel bad about that now.

Erik came back three times to stare at the Ghost train.  Easily his favourite of the show.

The Civic Hospital entrance.  As I do consulting work for them, I may share this.

A mishmash of Classic Space inspired ships and docking bays.  Not overly impressive tbh, but the monorail was not the old system, but created some other method I could not discern which had me puzzled.

My dream castle board.  It was stunning in detail and scope.

The town interior was very active.

One of the smaller castles.  Classic Castle MOCs seemed to be the most popular theme with a  number of towers, castles, and farms on display.

A serf farm, with a corn field build idea I will steal one day.
