The Summer of 2015 Recap Post

It was a busy spring and summer (new job, kid’s activities, yard work… which I neglected somewhat anyway) and some things fell through the cracks.  Like this blog for example. Time to rectify that with a random catch-up post.

I am not sure how this missed being uploaded before I went silent, but here is Erik holding up my birthday present.

A little classic space nostalgia again for me, with an assist from
one of my sidekicks to assemble

Here is my tall ship armada as of May, 2015.  There as been a few minor changes since and a lot of collected dust.  I still have an idea to follow-through on and I want to extend the Caribbean Clipper, but those plans got back-burnered.

The first time I can display Lego in public and have my wife think it OK

Here is a fun little Lego table day we did this summer.   I recall the theme being 'pioneers', as the kids were still jacked about a recent visit to Upper Canada Village.

You may note the angular hillock at the back.  I had played Minecraft for the
first time the night previous and I thought to try my hand at some simple terrain
This fine fellow was dubbed "Captain Grumpy-pants"

Here we have our young master builder hard at work on his new acquisition.  Did I mention he is a massive Scooby-Doo fan?

This is the epitome of 4 y.o. concentration
Seal of Approval!

Finally, we have what will likely be our last foray into Chima, as that line has now been sunsetted.  Erik and I were left at home to our own devices soon after I got back from one of my work trips north.  So, after dropping a few shekels on two Chima tribe boxes, we had a little build and battle.

 Gators tribe Flame-mobile

That's some pride in accomplishment there, or simply pride in having
beaten me in a flick-fire battle royal.  Hard to be sure.
