While off from school this week, Lizzie and Erik have been busily playing. First off Erik and I built the various sets Santa Claus and family gave him for Christmas, while Lizzie built her Cinderella Castle over a couple of sessions. But after a few days of that, the "Lego table" was brought out of the basement and the free building began; with each child using their own stash rather than daddy's for once!
While a little sparse, this set-up somehow generated two days of play involving warrior cat clans. Not sure of the details tbh, but Lizzie's cat clan lived on the near side of the river and they seemed to be the boss of everything.
This morning however, Erik grew bored of the catiness and we came up with a Chima-themed vehicles and a base.

| Hullo there! |
 |
| The Chi Fountain (Chi is the all-encompassing energy resource in the Legends of Chima fluff) |
 |
| Both a Croc and Lion vehicle... which are mostly adlibs of existing sets. Batman was just visiting. |
 |
| The secret den/tree fort, made from the wood of the rainbow vomit tree |
Building with Erik is still a function of taking one of his semi-deconstructed sets (which are all vehicles of some sort) and turning it into something solid and "swooshable". But having said that, his collection grew by huge leaps and bounds this year. He is way ahead of me at that age. :)
The Legends of Chima product line is rather interesting once you look beyond the cartoon based fluff. You have different animal clans which all come with their own weaponized vehicles and mechs of various flavours so it would be easy to army build, one of my favourite past times. I would likely enjoy building a Croc or Ice Bear clan army, but the kids are lukewarm on the theme and it is not something commonly collected by anyone I know so it would be a solo endeavor and I have enough of those already. Still, if I ever won the lottery...
