C-3: Untitled - Anika and Kevin H.
Rose and Rosie landed on the alien world and looked around. They had arrived on a beautiful island with white sand beaches and lush, jungle foliage. Strange birds sang amongst the trees and the sun shone brightly. After a few sensor readings, Rose could see that the environment was similar to earth, and that she would not need her space suite to explore. Hoping out of the ship, she began to change into her regular clothes while Rosie the cat sniffed about the sand for anything of interest.
Once changes, Rose went straight to work and pulled out the dimensional vortex recalibrator. The lights on the DVR blinked as it responded to Rose’s fingers as she entered the co-ordinates for earth. The beeping sounds and blinking lights attracted Rosie and she came over to watch what was happening. Rose finished entering the proper codes and opened up a portal back to earth so the rest of the expedition could come over.
The first through the door was Andrea. She was so excited that she could barely contain her excitement.
“IT WORKED!!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE IT WORKED!!!” she squealed as she stepped into the beautiful paradise.
Andrea rushed over to hug and gave her a huge hug while giggling merrily.
“Can you believe we made it to another planet?” Andrea said.
Before Rose could answer, the hum of an engine cut off the conversation and Lily rolled through the dimensional rift on an ATV dragging a trailer with all the equipment they would need to set up camp. They had tools for building shelters, a small boat and even some scuba gear. The team set about building their new base camp.
They worked all day, except for Rosie who just played, and when they were done, they had created a beautiful tropical oasis nestled in along the beach. There were four palapas style beach huts for each of them to live (and an extra just in case) as well as a bbq kitchen area in the center for everyone to meet for meals.
Andrea was an excellent cook so she set about grilling up diner while Lily and Rose sat down for a moments rest.
While they ate, the sun began to set so they lit a torch to better see by and placed it near the table. They talked briefly about all the fun they would have on their adventure together. Everyone was very tired though so they decided to go to sleep early and get a head start on the day. Rose and Rosie returned to their hut and sat on the grass read chair that they had built and watch the sun set over the ocean.
As the last light disappeared over the horizon, Rose went to bed, and Rosie curled up beside her.
