C-1: Sky Captain Thallnyr [Brooks T.]

For many years the United Human Colonies (UHC) were the most renown of all space explorers.  UHC scientists had perfected the ability to maintain human bodies in stasis indefinitely, had developed advanced cybernetic technology and had perfected a highly controversial technology allowing the transfer of human consciousness from one mind to another.  In fact, this last technology was so advanced that UHC astronauts never actually went in to space physically, but rather had their consciousness transferred to a Cyborg expeditionary unit while their human body remained in stasis until their return.  This allowed the UHC Star Command to explore the farthest reaches of the known universe without the restraints of the fleshy human body.

Alas, this technology ultimately resulted in the destruction of the UHC through the culmination of a series of events which will be expanded upon later.

As such, Thallnyr and his Cybernetic Familiar are the sole survivors of the Colonies.  The Sky Captain now travels through space along side a cobbled together crew of misfits in a heavily modified Vindicator class expeditionary vessel.  Why he continues to travel no one knows. Could he be looking for a new home?  Perhaps he is merely running from the ghosts of his past.
